On my Nails Today: Specks of Gold with Maybelline Color Show

Maybelline India Color Show Nail Polish - Shocking Seas Tenacious Teal Bold Gold - Easy Festive Dot Nail Art

Maybelline Color Show nail polishes launched in India a couple of weeks back at Rs. 75 a bottle with 40 colors (check HERE) to choose from!  From what I have tried of these so far, the formula seems quite easy to work with, going on quite smooth and nonstreaky.  The colors I have on today are a little out of my usual comfort zone of taupes and browns - Shocking Seas (a bright blue), Tenacious Teal (a surprisingly wearable dark green), and Bold Gold (a metallic opaque gold).  Of the three, Tenacious Teal is my favorite to wear on it's own, but for today, I mixed up the colors a bit with an easy-peasy dotted nail art.

How To:  Apply 2 coats Shocking Seas nail polish on four fingers and Tenacious Teal on the ring finger.  Use a dotting tool (toothpicks and even bobby pins work as great/better substitutes) to place dots along the tips and a few scattered over the nails - blue dots on the ring finger and green on the others - to give a bit of a gradient effect.  Add scattered gold dots on all the fingers using the golden shade - Bold Gold.  Wait a bit for the dots to dry and seal in with a top coat.  To make this a bit more subtle, keep the dots only on the ring finger as an accent.

For my feet, I decided to opt for a bit of a contrast - rather than matching - but wanted to stick with the dots theme, so I used Bold Gold as an all-over shade and applied scattered dots with a mix of Tenacious Teal and Shocking Seas.  Again, finish with a top coat to seal in the colors and dots.

It's easy yet festive nail art for a wedding or maybe for that Diwali party you are planning :)
