A package of extraordinary all-in-one antiaging face pads made from natural plant fiber, these powerful treatment pads quickly address the appearance of sagging, dryness, dullness, redness, and large pores, while imparting a slight tingling and lovely cooling sensation. Skin is brought into balance and left feeling firm, dewy, and smooth with a healthy radiant glow in 10 minutes. Contains Gingko extract - considered a living fossil and believed in Chinese Traditional Medicine to have repairing ability. The natural amino acids in Gingko help brighten while natural flavonoids in Gingko help protect against free radical damage. Suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin.
While I amn't very disciplined with my face-care routine, I do try to treat myself to a face mask at least once or twice a week, and sheet masks are my favorite. My latest trial has been the Wei Gingko Leaf Repairing Face Treatment Pads. Like all other sheet masks I have tried, these too come individually packed and are made of a thin paper-like material soaked in a lotion/treatment. The masks are quite wet, and the thin plastic tray that each mask comes in makes it just a teeny bit easier to handle (since the mask isn't all bunched up inside the packet).
To use, I do just as suggested on the packaging: Remove the inner tray from package. Open the tray and carefully unfold the face pad and apply it to clean, dry face. Press down with the blue layer facing up, avoiding the eye area. Carefully peel away the top blue layer and discard. Gently smooth the remaining layer onto the face. Leave it on for about 10 minutes, remove the pad and discard. Massage remaining treatment over the face until fully absorbed (I wipe off excess, but that's me being paranoid about my sensitive breakout-prone skin).
The mask is very conveniently packed and perfect for travel, but I didn't find it very easy to use, at least on my face. The actual mask itself is a very, very thin sheet, which is why the instructions recommend placing the sheet on the face and then removing the thicker blue layer. The problem for me is that the mask is just not shaped to fit my face. I know most sheet masks have a general one-size-fit-all principle, but this one just won't work for me :( I had to make a few cuts on the sheet, along the corners of the holes placed for the eyes and mouth, to helped stretch the mask out better, and I trimmed off some of the excess around the edges to cover some of the missing areas. It was a bit of a patchwork, but I did get all my face covered in the end. That apart, I didn't have any other issues with the mask. It's supposed to have a tingly sensation, and I didn't feel anything, but that I really am not complaining about it. The mask has to be left on for 10 minutes, then discarded, and any excess product massaged into the skin, but I chose to dab it off with a tissue to avoid breakouts. That's just my personal preference. Most people massage it in. As for results, my skin looked hydrated and healthy but not really drastically different. I got these masks as a GWP from Sephora, but I don't think I would be buying these only because they don't really fit my face that well. This seems to get some good reviews on Sephora, though, so it's probably just my face shape :D
