|On my lips: Chanel Levres Scintillantes Glossimer in Sonate |
(Chanel Notes de Printemps - Spring 2014 Makeup Collection)
Chanel Spring 2014 makeup collection - Notes de Printemps - turned up at counters and online about a week or two back. The collection has a lovely mix of peaches and pretty pinks and some lovely bright lipsticks, but I decided to go with the two Levres Scintillantes Glossimer - Sonate (a reddish peach) and Murmure (soft pink). Both the lipglosses are creamy, relatively opaque (by gloss standards), and there is no shimmer mixed in. Take a look at some more photos and swatches.

Plaisir isn't part of the Spring collection, added in by mistake :P

The two glosses - Sonate and Murmure - are both beautiful colors that are perfect for spring and summer. Sonate is the more pigmented of the two, and the coral-reddish shade shows up better on my pigmented lips than the softer pink Murmure. On less pigmented lips, the colors would be more true to what you see in the tube/swatches. These aren't meant to be fully opaque glosses, though, and I quite like the soft, sheer wash of color that I get with either of these, and they fit in perfectly with the casual makeup looks that I opt for almost all the time. Chanel Levres Scintillantes Glossimers have a fabulous formula - moisturizing, nongoopy, and much less stickier than most other glosses - all of which make them one of my favorite makeup products. They don't last the whole day - about 2 hours at the most - but I don't mind reapplying.

Additional Makeup Used: Chanel Perfection Lumiere Foundation
Concealers: NARS Creamy Stick Concealer, MAC Prolongwear
Blush: Chanel Intonation (Spring 2014 Makeup Collection)
Eyes: Chanel Rose Majeur Eyeshadow duo (also from the Spring 2014 makeup collection)
Sonate and Murmure both get easy Yayyyys from me, but I am biased. I love easy, casual makeup looks, and I am the sort of person who would rather spend money on a lip-friendly product like these lipglosses rather than something like a full-coverage lipstick. If you love the Chanel lipgloss formula and/or love softer, sheer lip colors, do give these a try at the counter.
