An easy neutral work-appropriate makeup look using MAC eyeshadows.
(Brown Script, Coppering, Typographic)
I don't really go to work anywhere - I work from home now - but when I did go to office some years back, I would barely get the time to put on a clean outfit! I assume most people are like me, though, and don't really have the time to follow a complicated makeup routine. Apart from the lack of time required for more elaborate makeup looks, there's also the fact that a lot of people just prefer simple, neutral makeup looks for offices. The makeup look I have tried on today is as simple as can be and uses neutral warm tones. Also, I bought a bunch of MAC eyeshadows recently, and I am dying to show you all my new favorite eyeshadows :D Scroll on for more photos (lots of them - and I have kept the writing to a minimum).
Step 1: Start with an eyeshadow base. This will help keep the eye makeup from disintegrating as the day wears on. I have oily skin/eyelids, so I use something like the Urban Decay's Primer Potion.
Step 2: Use MAC Typographic (or any black/dark grey eyeshadow) on an angled eyeliner brush (brush in the pic is from TBS).
Tap off excess to prevent fallout.
Pat the eyeshadow over the eyelids, starting from the lashline to a little short of the crease.
Step 4: Pick up a warm, coppery slightly frosty eyeshadow (MAC Coppering) on the same brush used earlier - or on your finger which is what I did :P :P - and just dab it only on to the center of the lid.
Pack the shadow on quite densely, but keep it to the very center of the eyelid only. This will help bring a little light to the eyelid area but without any visible shimmer or glitter, once it's blended (next step).
I also applied a dark brown pencil (Urban Decay Demolition) along my lower waterline and finished with curled lashes and black mascara (Maybelline Megaplush).
And that's the finished look! I paired the warm eyes with a salmon-colored blush - Chanel Frivole - but any soft peach/coral blush would be perfect. On my lips I used a thin layer of Givenchy Brun Createur lipstick.
Makeup Products Used: Chanel Perfection Lumiere Foundation, Urban Decay Naked Skin Beauty Balm
NARS Cream Stick Concealers (Biscuit and Caramel), Bobbi Brown Corrector (Dark Peach) applied with the Ecotools Concealer Brush
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder applied with a fluffy powder brush (Suqqu Powder Brush)
Chanel Frivole blush (applied with Tom Ford Cream Foundation brush because that's what I could lay my hands on)
Givenchy Brun Createur lipstick
MAC Eyeshadow Swatches (L to R): Brown Script, Coppering, Typographic
Givenchy Brun Createur Lipstick (it's actually peach/browner, but for some reason looks pinkish on my swatch)
Chanel Frivole Blush
