On my Nails Today: Burberry Nail Polish in Pale Grape

Burberry Nail Polish Pale Grape 410 - Swatches Photos NOTD Review

When Burberry added nail polishes to the makeup range, I was quite enthusiastic and even picked up an early-release set online.  Of course, as is usually the story with a lot of my purchases, once the newness wore off a bit, the polishes just sat there and I never did get around to reviews.  Anywho, the color I have on today is from the Burberry Runway Nail Collection set - Pale Grape 410 - but it's also available to buy on its own now.  The color is a cooler toned bluish purple that, in typical Burberry fashion, is subtle and neutral while still staying a little on the brighter side.

The bottle has a longish cap with the Burberry plaid pattern on it, but once that comes off, the bottle does look just a teeny bit odd, imo.  I cropped an older photo - was too lazy to click fresh set of bottle pics - so excuse the noisy/crappy clarity on the photo :P

The formula on this particular polish is fabulous.  It's creamy and applies beautifully to a smooth glossy finish. Opaque with a single coat, but I have used 3 coats here in the photos to give better depth to the color, and I think it just looks better this way.  Burberry polishes, in general, are quick drying to touch, but I would definitely recommend waiting a bit before rummaging about in a bag to avoid dents and chips in the polish.

Burberry Pale Grape is a good pick for anyone who likes neutral nails but wants something with a bit more pop than the usual taupes and greys.  The finish is glossy and smooth, though it does need a top coat to retain that fresh look.  Personally, I don't think the color looks particularly great on my skin tone, but it's a lovely formula, and if you are a Burberry fan, you might like this color :)

  3. Thanks very much for the review! Such a coincidence, I am wearing this one today.
It looks much better on your nails though as on me it turns really dark, almost black...
Have you applied only one coat?

  4. This is such a pretty color! I really need to pick up some of these; I had Mink and loved the formula, but ended up returning it because I wasn't crazy about how the color looked against my skin tone.

  6. I have to disagree with you and say that colour looks amazing on your skin and you have exquisite nails! I would have never thought to try this colour on my skin tone, but now I'm gonna go hunting high and low for this !! Thanks for the inspiration :)
