Chanel red lipsticks are among the most raved about, and I have to admit, they do make some amazing reds. For someone like me who isn't too comfortable with bold colors, these can also be a bit intimidating because of how intensely pigmented these lipsticks are. Thanks to some late-night shopping sprees at Chanel online, I have quite a a few samplers of some Chanel red lipsticks, and needless to say, I have barely brushed the surface of even one of these! Case in point - Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick in Passion.

Chanel Rouge Allure lipstick Passion has been described (in reviews I have read online) as a bluish red - the sort that makes your teeth look whiter - but on my lips I think it looks a fairly neutral red. Probably because I apply a pretty light layer with a lip brush. Like all the other Rouge Allure reds I have tried so far, Chanel Passion is a very pigmented red lipstick. The formula isn't matte but not overly creamy/glossy either. The one issue I have with this lipstick (apart from the fact that I would never ever get brave enough to wear this color outside of my home) is that, like most Chanel Rouge Allure lipsticks, I do find this formula a bit drying. Exfoliating lips and using a lip balm does help quite a bit, but I have incredibly dry lips to start with, so it's not something I am too happy about. That apart, Chanel Passion is definitely a classic red shade that would look good on almost all skin tones - a little confidence needed, though :D
