Marc Jacobs Decadence Eau de Parfum Spray

Marc Jacobs Decadence Eau de Parfum Spray Fragrance Review
Marc Jacobs Decadence Eau de Parfum Spray ($28-$120) at Sephora
Notes:  Italian Plum, Iris Flower, Saffron, Bulgarian Rose, Jasmine Sambac,
Orris, Vetiver, Papyrus Woods, Liquid Amber.
Style:  Qualitative. Opulent. Surprising.

Marc Jacobs fragrances are among my favorites, and I love the easy-to-wear fruity floral fragrances as much as I love the beautifully designed bottles that house these perfumes.  The newest launch from the brand, Decadence, combines both these aspects with a luxurious, sophisticated design and a warm, sensual fragrance.  The perfume bottle is designed to resemble a purse with a deep green python print cap and a gold chain adorned with black tassles.  This edgy bold design is matched by the perfume it houses - a warm woody fragrance that is indulgent and luxurious.

Marc Jacobs Decadence opens with a warm floral sweetness with just a hint of fruitiness to it.  On me, the floral notes from the rose and jasmine do not stand out too much - which is a good thing for me since I amn't a huge fan of overly floral fragrances - but they do linger in the background as the warmer woody notes open up.  I love using warm woody-amber fragrances, especially during the cooler fall/winter months, so Decadence is an easy favorite for me.  It is similar to other Marc Jacobs fragrances like Daisy and Lola, but while those seem a bit more fun and girly, Decadence is a darker, deeper fragrance.  A little goes a long way with this perfume, and the fragrance lasts the whole day on my skin.  I love fragrances like Gucci Guilty, Chanel Coco Mademoiselle, Dolce & Gabbana Desire, etc., so a heavier fragrance like Marc Jacobs Decadence would fit right in with my autumn-winter picks.  If you like woody, warm, sweet fragrances, then give this a try the next time you are at Sephora.

Review based on a Sephora sampler.
