Bare Minerals Gen Nude Buttercream Lipgloss - Swatches

Bare Minerals Gen Nude Buttercream Lipgloss - Swatches
Bare Minerals Gen Nude Buttercream Lipgloss ($18 each) at Sephora

Rounding up my swatch-marathon of the Bare Minerals Gen Nude lip collection are the Buttercream Lipglosses.  Like the other products in this collection, these vanilla-scented lipglosses focus on nude/neutral lip colors.  The creamy moisturizing lipglosses offer sheer coverage and are formulated with lip plumping ingredients that add fullness without any uncomfortable tingling/irritating sensation.  Layer these over lipliners or lipsticks to provide added dimension and help the gloss color show up better.  Scroll on for swatches.

I have always preferred lipglosses over lipsticks for their lightweight formula as well as the more lip friendly finish.  The Bare Minerals Gen Nude Buttercream lipgloses are no exception.  I love the colors in this range, and while the coverage is described as sheer, I think some of these glosses might actually provide a bit more coverage, especially shades like Heartbreaker which would show up quite well even on my pigmented lips.  Some of the glosses have very fine gold shimmer in them that's more visible in the tubes rather than in the swatches.  On the lips, I think these would add more shine and depth to the color rather than showing up as larger glitter.

I love pairing lipglosses with lipliners - a good nude/neutral lipliner usually works well for most colors - to give more definition to the lips (as well as to even out the pigmentation on my lips) - but for a creamier finish these could also be layered over lipsticks.  Overall, the Bare Minerals Gen Nude Buttercream lipglosses are a great pick for a simple, easy wash of color and/or for rich creamy neutral lips that would pair great with a smokey eye.
