Bare Minerals Gen Nude Radiant Lipsticks ($20 each) at Sephora |
Bare Minerals Gen Nude collection is a dream come true for anyone who loves neutral/nude lip colors. This collection features a range of nude shades, from easy to wear my-lips-but-better neutral shades to true pale nudes, and available in 3 different textures to choose from - matte liquid lip color, buttercream lipgloss, and radiant cream lipsticks. Also available in this range are 4 new lipliners which can be used over or under these lip colors to give added definition. The Gen Nude Radiant Lipsticks from this range combine creamy color with a balmy shine to moisturize, smooth, and condition lips while providing medium coverage. The lipsticks also have a subtle vanilla scent to them. Scroll on for swatches.

I love neutral shades of lip color, and I tend to have dry lips, so a lipstick that combines moisturizing ingredients and available in a range of nude/neutral shades is an automatic winner. The Bare Minerals Gen Nude Radiant Lipsticks live up to the neutral claim. The colors are a great mix of pale nudes, peachy brown shades (those I love!), as well as neutral rose/pink shades. There are also some deeper shades, which because of the slightly sheer lightweight formula, work great as neutrals, especially for someone like me (medium-dark skin tone and pigmented lips). The formula seems similar to other gel-creme lipsticks I have tried like the Buxom Big and Sexy Bold Gel Lipsticks and the Marc Jacob Sheer Lip Gels but with a bit less coverage than those. While these are described as medium coverage, I think some of the paler nude colors like Sexpot, Controversy, Nudist, Karma, Bubbles, Crush, etc., would give uneven coverage if your natural lip color has uneven pigmentation. That has been my issue with similar lipsticks from other brands, and I find that it helps to use a nude/neutral shade of lipliner with such lipsticks.
Give the Bare Minerals Gen Nude Radiant lipsticks a try if you love nude/neutral shades, medium coverage, and prefer a balm-like moisturizing formula.
