It's officially fall now - my favorite time of the year - and no surprise, the fall/holiday makeup collections are the ones I most look forward to trying out. I just cannot resist the luxurious gold packaging and lovely warm, rich colors that invariably show up in every fall collection. I haven't been able to do much store hopping, swatching, or even plain old blogging lately, though, because of my never-ending computer woes, but today's post is a quick peek at some gorgeous goodies I got to try out from the Jane Iredale Fall 2016 collection. With a focus on defined brows and bold lips, this collection celebrates the classic golds and reds of fall. The products I got to try are the cream-to-powder eyeshadows - aptly named Smooth Affair - as well as the Puremoist Lipstick in Cindy which is a classic red shade. Scroll on for more.
First up are the Jane Iredale Smooth Affair cream-to-powder eyeshadows. These cream eyeshadows offer a sheer wash of shimmer and sheen (can be built up a bit), and as is typical of cream shadows, they are extremely easy to blend, and once set, last the whole day on my lids.

Both these cream eyeshadows offer a sheer finish with fine glitter that is quite easy to wear any time of the day. Of the two, Smooth Affair eyeshadow in Gold is my favorite. The warm gold is easier to wear on my lids than the more-of-a-sheen pale champagne shade Canvas. Despite being sheer, both the eyeshadows show up quite well on my lid and can be used on their own or layered over other shadows and liners for easy, effortless makeup looks.
Also part of the fall 2016 makeup collection is the Puremoist Lipstick Cindy - a classic red shade. The formula is quite lightweight and very lip friendly, and it smells delicious with a fruity, sweet smell to it (something to keep in mind, though, if you prefer your makeup fragrance-free). I tend to shy away from reds, but if I think this lightweight formula and moisturizing texture makes this one of the best red lipsticks I have tried so far.

This isn't the most longlasting lipstick out there, but it's a darker shade and the color does last a reasonable time between touch-ups, especially if I am careful with what I eat/drink. Here's a look at the swatches of the Jane Iredale Smooth Affair eyeshadows in Canvas and Gold as well as the Puremoist lipstick Cindy.

I am going through a bit of a no-makeup phase lately, mostly because I have been really busy and never find the time to even slap on some decent skincare, and what I really loved about the Jane Iredale fall collection is how easy and effortless it is to apply. Red lips and a sheer wash of gold on the lids is my idea of an easy fall makeup look, and it takes barely any time to do. The cream-to-powder eyeshadows require no brushes and barely any blending. The Puremoist lipstick is the perfect fall red, and the formula is incredibly moisturizing. Overall, the perfect makeup to transition to the colder months ahead.
