Giorgio Armani Lip Magnets Liquid Lipsticks ($38 each) at Sephora |
Liquid lipsticks have been quite a trend this, and a lot of brands have come out with versions of these. Generally though, liquid lipsticks seem to give a heavy matte/cakey finish, and while that is a look which seems to be quite popular online, it's never been something I have been a fan of. I much prefer the newer liquid gloss-lipstick hybrids. like these Giorgio Armani Lip Magnets, that feature a longlasting, pigmented formula with a soft creamy finish. The lightweight formula gives rich color payoff and comes with a uniquely designed applicator for a more precise application. Scroll on for a look at swatches of some of the shades in this range.
The Giorgio Lip Magnets are definitely very longlasting - while the creamy glossy texture was easy to wipe off my hands, the stain they left behind on my hand were nearly impossible to remove! The formula claims to settle to a matte finish, but it seems more like a soft creamy finish. Personally, I prefer this finish - it's a lot more forgiving on my lips that are prone to dryness anyway - but for those who prefer a true matte liquid lipstick effect, this might be a bit disappointing. The colors in this range, at least the ones that I got swatch, are more in the red-plum range, with a few brighter shades thrown in, but I didn't notice a lot of nude/neutral colors. These colors would be perfect for the fall/winter months, and because the formula can be applied in thinner layers, the same Lip Magnets can be used for softer color on when you don't really want a deep dark lip.
If you love creamy, pigmented glosses but are looking for something a bit more longlasting, do give the Giorgio Lip Magnet Liquid Lipsticks a try.
